FFW
celebrates 57th Anniversary by vowing to strengthen social partnership

The
FFW marked its 57th year of existence on June 19 by calling for
stronger social partnership which shall serve as the key in strengthening
the Federation and promoting decent work. Social Partnership has
defined the work of the Federation since its 22nd National Convention,
thus, opening the doors for greater collaboration with other partners
to further the interests of its constituency and Philippine labor
in general.
The
festivities began with the celebration of the Holy Mass with priest
presider Fr. Archie Intengan, S.J. at the helm. This was followed
by a solidarity dinner hosted by the Federation for its social partners,
leaders of the present and the past and members. In his message
to the distinguished guests, FFW National President Allan S. Montaño
expressed heartfelt thanks to the guests who graced the occasion,
which in itself "is a showcase of social partnership".
Among
the organizations and agencies represented in the solidarity dinner
were the Department of Labor and Employment, the National Conciliation
and Mediation Board, the Bureau of Labor Relations, the Federation
of Philippine Industries, the Philippine Employer-Labor Social Partnership
Inc., the International Labor Office-Subregional Office in Manila,
the Association of Progressive Labor, the National Mines and Allied
Workers' Union, the National Association of Trade Unions, the Philippine
Organization of Labor Unions, the UP-School of Labor and Industrial
Relations, the Kaunlaran ng Manggagawang Pilipino, Inc., the Brotherhood
of Asian Trade Unions and Luzon-based local presidents of the FFW.
