Policy Development,
Advocacy and Information Office
During the
21st National Convention of the Federation of Free Workers, part
of the Policy and Program of Action that was approved was an action
that calls for the creation of a Research, Policy Development
and Advocacy Office (RPDAO) of the FFW. The action is quoted as
follows:
Structures
and Administration
In order to
ensure success of these policies and programs, the structures
and administration of the FFW shall continue to be improved, reformed
and strengthened along the following lines:
Research, Policy Development and Advocacy Office
In order to advocate for external policies and programs and to
frame internal policies and programs, A Research, Policy Development
and Advocacy Office (RPDAO) shall be established and staffed with
the function of: data-basing, membership profiling, search, policy
studies and lobbying. At the same time, the Commission on Economic
and Social Development shall organize or join meetings, roundtable
discussions and thematic seminars as fora for the discussion and
framing of social and economic policies to be advocated by the
federation.
In the onslaught
of the implementation of the policies of globalization by the
government, the negative effects of globalization has become more
apparent threatening the stability of the life and welfare of
the farmers and workers in particular, the whole Filipino nation
in general.
The RPDAO
is a composed of a staff composite team with representatives from
all programs and projects within FFW
Statements,
position papers and other documents bearing the name of FFW go
through the RPDAO.
